Join The Petition Preventing FDA from Regulating Or Banning E-cigs and Related Products

I just found out that FDA is again eying on one of its favorite subject that is electronic cigarettes. Apparently, the FDA has repeatedly stated its intent to propose a “deeming” regulation to apply Chapter IX of the FSPTCA to e-cigarettes. But Sections 905 and 910 would ban all e-cigarettes, and other provisions of Chapter IX would also decimate the e-cigarette industry, protect cigarette markets and otherwise threaten public health.

Are you gonna let FDA deny the right to vape or use electronic cigarettes? If no, then join us by signing the petition... Don't let FDA take away our right to vape!

As of today the SIGNATURES NEEDED BY FEBRUARY 13, 2013 TO REACH GOAL OF 25,000 is
6,515.

Disposable E Cigarettes Vs E Cig Starter Kits

What are Disposable Electronic Cigarettes?

Disposable E Cigarettes are those electronic cigarettes designed to last only for a certain number of puffs. These are often are sold in solo blister packs and just takes a few seconds to open and puff right out of the pack. It's fairly easy to use without much to worry about (just dispose of it properly in the recyclables).

It is often available in:
  • 200 Puffs
  • 300 Puffs
  • 500 Puffs
This is a pretty decent amount of puffs considering that an average stick of cigarette last only 12 puffs. (I'll let you do the math)

Advantages:
  • Comes Cheaper than starter kits(a.k.a. rechargeable ecigs)
  • Good for trying out different brands as it is cheap
  • Puff Immediately out of the pack
  • Easy-to-Use
  • Dispose when puffs or battery runs out
Disadvantages:
  • Limited flavors(packs often contain just one flavor)
  • Fixed nicotine strength
  • Not recommended to be refilled after flavor runs out

 What about Ecigarette Starter Kits?

Electronic Cigarette or Ecigarette starter kits always come with a charger, battery, cartomizer/atomizer+cartridge, and flavor/s of your choice, (and most brands includes a deluxe carrying case). These rechargeable electronic cigarettes also comes in various cool designs and functions. It also proves to be much cheaper in the long run as the only thing you need to buy is the e-juice(refill).

Advantages:
  • Wider range of flavors to choose from
  • Oftentimes, ecigarettes come with instructions
  • Advance users have the option to mix e-juice (flavors and nic strength)
  • Can prove to be cheaper in the long run
Disadvantages:
  • Can be complicated to understand some instructions(language can be an issue)
  • Maintenance can be complicated for newbie vapers (cleaning and refilling)
  • Charging sometimes is a hassle especially when you're in a rush.
  • Other issues issues/factors that could affect vaping (battery charging, flavor tastes, etc.)

Hence, whatever you do or decide, the final say is yours. Also, feel free to leave suggestions, remarks, criticism and other comments if you feel it.. :)

I Bought New Atomizers and It Tastes Awfully Bad - What to Do

Have you ever experienced that awful taste when you first bought a replacement or extra  atomizer? I mean that foul taste in the first few puffs of the new atomizer which eventually goes away after a few puffs. Ever wonder what's the case when that happens? I experienced it too and I did also wonder at first, so I did my research. Here I am to share what I've learned from it.

This is common to those atomizers that include primers. I know what you're thinking, somewhere you might think that it's because of the e-juice or e-liquid you bought. This most often is not the case.

So Is It the Primer That Causes The Awful Taste?

The answer would be no...it has no taste and is zero-nicotine though sometimes it is tobacco flavored.

Why are Primers Included Then? It can be one or more of the reasons:
  • To ensure that the first few puffs on the new atomizer are not dry which could lead to damage
  • To help keep the internal metal parts from rusting
  • Sometimes it is utilized in the testing machines of the manufacturer's factory

So Why Does It Taste So Awful?

As you should know, atomizers go through a testing process. What you are tasting are the residues of manufacturing and machining... Surprised? I know I did at first, I mean who would want to vape on these residues? We're talking about machine oil, coatings, traces of adhesives and sealants, and coatings on the silica fibers of the wick or wicks.

So How Do I fix It?

  • One way is through using the e-cigarette which burns the residue off.(If you can stand it)
  • Another is through soaking and/or rinsing your atomizer (this method may end up reducing the life of your atomizer) using solvents
Anyways, that's pretty much briefly the basics of it... If you want to know more, below is a more detailed explanation on how it's done.

E-cigarette Battery Will not Charge - What To Do?

Have you ever experienced that batteries will not charge? If you ever wondered what to do… Well, here I’m about to discuss some things you ought to know and what you should do in case this happens to you.

Here Goes:

You should know that like any type of battery, it will not hold a charge for quite long as batteries have a life span. Unless it is brand new, you can’t expect them to last forever. In fact, some ecig battery manufacturer states that the batteries are good for at least 300 charge and discharge cycles. We can expect more charge cycles though.

There are also two types of ecigarette batteries: The Manual and Automatic

The Manual batteries contains a push button which when pressed activates the release of e-juice to be vaporized. This allows for a better control on the amount of vapor you want to vape. These type of batteries are also quite easy to become familiar with.

Automatic Batteries are those you simply vape at will. It is called automatic because it activates at the moment you start vaping. An issue that you have to deal with this battery is that sometimes it activates on its own. See below for more info.

The Battery Charges But I Get No Vapor – What’s Going On?

Try to go through again the atomizer/cartomizer check list. But usually, these situation happens when there’s a loose or no contact between the battery and the carto/atty.

Battery Lights but Then Flashes While Vaping

This usually happens to automatic type batteries. There is a typical 5 second cut-off for these batteries. If you need a longer drag, we advise that you get a manual type battery.

Battery Flashing and No Vapor Occurs

This happens usually because the ecig battery is low and needs to be charged.

Battery Lights Up on Its Own

Oftentimes this occurs on an automatic battery. It could be that the battery connector is not in its proper position. A solution for this is to take the ash end and literally give it a good hard couple of taps on a hard surface. Another is to put your mouth into the battery connector and blow as hard as you can (just be careful not to include saliva in the battery though).

Battery Does Not Light Up or I Don’t Get a Vapor When Puffing

Most probably it could be that your e-cigarette battery is broken or has been drained to its lifespan. Easiest option is that you should get a replacement battery.

Batteries Getting Very Hot When Vaping or Charging

This is a sign that the battery has a serious problem.  Do not just throw them anywhere (specially not in the trash can)! Call the ecig supplier or local recycle shop or consult other experts if you’re unsure.

When you tried everything and nothing works, go ahead and get an ecig battery replacement. Also remember to also store your ecig batteries in a safe place (avoid dusty places and keep out of reach of children). Do not poke paperclips or other items in the battery unless you know what you’re doing. And make sure you dispose those e-cig batteries properly (not throwing them just in the trash can as it poses a fire threat!). For more questions, clarifications and other remarks you want to add, feel free to post a comment.

Factors That Could Affect The Satisfaction in Vaping E-Cigs

Vaping is one of the most common trend nowadays. In fact, it's so hot of a hot topic that also generates speculations towards communities anywhere. But anyways, vapers like me know better than to mind their own business. I myself am very much contented with vaping e-cigs. I know that vapor from my ecigs are not harming anyone, and I stop vaping whenever someone dislikes it(Just as a sign of respect). Anyways, I just wanted to share what I know about some of the factors that makes ecigarettes a hit towards vapers like me.

Here goes:

E-cig Vaping Factors I Consider:

Flavors - I consider this as a huge factor simply because it is what makes e-cigs different from smoking cigars.

Ecigarettes are available in  so many different flavors that it's virtually impossible for you not to pick your very own favorite flavor. In fact, this is one of the main reasons why some people say they've given up smoking completely; because once you get used to the flavors, you can slowly yet gradually lower down the nicotine levels.

E-cigarette Sizes

Believe it or not, I consider the size of ecigs as a factor. Mainly because on the early stages of vaping, I was somehow looking for an ecigarette that was really closely similar to the real thing: small, slick and light.
Later, I realized that I'd prefer a larger e-cig as it can hold more e-liquid plus it has a larger battery. On the top are just some of the e-cig sizes compared.

E-Cigarette Batteries

I also consider batteries as a factor towards getting the right hit in vaping. I've noticed that a higher voltage battery gives off a better hit. Maybe because it can vaporize the e-liquid better... And for me, a larger battery means higher volts.

Nicotine Content

For me, this is the least of the factors that determine the vaping satisfaction. Well, it is still a huge factor though... Normally, when you're new to e-cigs, you don't get the first hit right. A reason for this is that the body is still used to nicotine. In fact, when I started vaping ecigs, I craved for a strong nicotine strength.

These are mainly the things I always consider when buying ecigarettes... How About You?  What are the factors that you're looking for?

No Smoke E-cigarettes Generates a Fiery Debate

I'm sure you have heard about e-cigs and how it generates a lot of speculation around the society today. It can be funny how different sides react and generate somewhat a friendly yet fiery discussion on their point of view. Some are against smoking to a point that they feel the same way about ecigarettes, while on the other hand, vapers highly consider this irrelevant as well as absurd.

I just wanted to share this link because I felt really interested and entertained by this article (especially the comment section). Try to read it, I'm sure you won't be disappointed! :)
